‘I was delighted to find a networking group for local business women who meet regularly, chat and share business ideas.  I came away from my first FBWN meeting inspired and motivated and very pleased to have become a member of this innovative group of working women.  The lunch was excellent too!’

Emma Jenkins, SPP Pumps

Happy New Year to all our members and guests.  Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2012.

We start off the new year with a meeting on the 19th January 2012 in The Pavillion, The Speech House, Coleford from 9.00-11.00 am.  Our speaker will be Emma Jackson (pictured above) of SPP Pumps Limited in Coleford.  Emma is the Operations Manager for the company and runs their manufacturing and testing facility.  She started life as a buyer and has been fortunate to travel around the world on business, sourcing specialist engineering components for projects in the Oil and Gas, Building, Municipal and Fire protection sectors.  Born in the Forest of Dean, Emma understands and appreciates that cultural and ethical differences that influence how people view their business is not just of a local consideration. Emma will share and explore the differences in business culture when trading on a global platform when you least expect it, plus a few amusing stories about her travels abroad.

Plus, we'll also be introducing a new slot called "Fly Your Flag", which will be an opportunity for one member business to have 10 minutes to talk indepth about their business.  This month, the first speaker to fly their flag will be the first member to respond to this invitation.  Subsequent month's speakers will be chosen via a business card draw.  So, if you want the opportunity to speak this month, REPLY NOW.
